This past weekend was the 2022 Dirt Nitro Challenge at The Dirt in Perris,Ca. The event had almost 1000 entries making for some super late nights and a challenging track. I raced Pro ebuggy, Pro nitro truggy, and pro nitro buggy. For seeding we were supposed to have 2 5 minute runs but due to the rain the night before it was changed into one 7 minute run with your 2 consecutive laps for seeding instead of 3 laps. Seeding for me went good with my new Team Marc’s mugen vehicles. I seeded into the A heats in Pro nitro truggy and pro ebuggy. For nitro buggy I was in the back of the b heat after having a issue on my part ending my seeding run early. For qualifying in truck and ebuggy I struggled on the rough track to due the lack of practice on this kind surface. I ended up in the c main for both truck and ebuggy. Going into nitro buggy qualifying I knew that I had the speed to make the main and turn things around. In the first round I had a top ten run going until I mistake on my part. Learning from the first round I had my best run of the weekend with a 99% consistency run, with that came a 3rd for the round. Going into the last round I needed a top 15 run to make the main. I did exactly that and would start 9th in the amain. The c main in both in truggy and ebuggy ended quickly due to mechanical issues. For the rest of the day I helped out my team with there racing and rebuilt my nitro buggy for the amain. Finally after watching a lot of racing to find the smoothest lines around the track it was time for the Pro nitro buggy A main. I had a great start went up to 5th at 1 point then was just hanging around 8-12 for majority of the race then with 2 laps to go I made a pass into 10th we’re I would finish. Congrats to Ryan Mayfield for the double win in the nitro classes. Thank you to my family and my friends supporting me at this event time to get everything ready for Nationals coming up in 2 weeks!!!
