VanDalens's DNC report
The event started off decent for me as I put my Tekno RC EB48 2.0 in the A resort. As the day went on we saw some rain and some changes to the track, that I wasn’t prepared for. In Truck I set my self into the B resort with my NT48 2.0 after running in the rain. And in Nitro Buggy I also put my NB48 2.0 into the B resort.
Moving onto qualifying I had a few highlight runs but could never back them up as mistakes and bad luck would start to put a damper on the week. I would put my self into the C main of E Buggy starting P5, the B main of Nitro Truck starting P9, and the B main of Nitro Buggy also starting P9.
In E Buggy I had a good run in the C main taking the last transfer spot out and would move on to the B main where I would advance forward to battle for bump spot into the final but i had a mistake that costed me too much and I would end the weekend in P20 overall. In Truck I had a flame out right at the first pit stop that would come from me missing the tune and the track conditions changing so much that I lost over a minute of run time. Not anyones fault but my own. I would finish P29 overall in Nitro Truck. In Nitro Buggy I was holding to turn the week back around by having a good run in the B main and I feel I did just that. I ran my best and just came up one spot short of the transfer to the final. I think a better start would have gotten me to the transfer but luck wasn’t on my side. I would finish P17 overall in Nitro Buggy.
I’d like to thank my sponsors for their continued support. I’d also like to thank all my friends and family back home for their help and support. And a huge shout out to my dad for all the pit help on and off the track. And a special thanks to my girlfriend Maddie for holding down the fort while I was away.
