Report from DNC 2022
Got some time to reflect on my time at the 2022 DNC! Let’s say we had good runs and had some bad runs but overall we will take the bad runs and turn them into good at the next event ☺️!

Practice day for all 3 cars got shorten to 1 run per car due to the rain delay so we definitely had to learn the track pretty quickly. All 3 cars felt good. The truck was a bit of a rough one so we had not to only do some clean up but also dig for a new setup as well.

Day 2 of E-Buggy and Truggy: EBuggy all day went amazing. The setup was right and the tire choice was so good. I start the day with a 9 in Rd.1 and then back up Rd.2 with a 11. I knew I locked myself in with them deciding on taking 14 in the main. Ended up P10 overall when all things said a done! As for truggy, it was rough all 3 quals. Finally round 3 we got a decent run in but had to start 4th in the D main.

Day 3 of Buggy: I was ready to put it down as this is the class I’m looking forward in performing. Round 1 I was looking good and fast but then catching another driver and him never moving causing me to stay behind him and lose a chunk of time. Then unfortunately my own driving error having a crash would put me down the grid. Some people told me I should just moved the driver out the way but I wasn’t trying to have that on me as to be respectful on the track at the end of the day. Round 2 and 3 were a bit rough and ended my day 4th in the C main.

Day 4 of EBuggy and Truggy: Truggy was the earlier part of my day so I got the track early and my team was ready for me to do work. We did some clutch changes, setup changes, charged up and ready to play the bump game. D main went pretty smooth as I got out front early and was ready to move on. Did notice some lack of power so ended up letting a driver go by as he had more power and stayed in 2nd for the rest of the way. C main comes up a later on in the day and i knew I gotta fight to get myself toward the top 2. We had a good start and by lap 1 we were 5th.  I stayed in 5th most of the way then started picking off one by one. Had a dialed pit stop from the 1ARMY crew and next thing u know I’m 3rd. As I’m setting sights on 2nd, my motor started losing power and got to hot. I didn’t wanna mess up anyone race so with about 1min and half to go I pulled it in and called it. I was definitely satisfied in the truck changes thanks to Brenden Bartlett. As truck was ended early, it was time to get the e buggy ready.  Went ahead and did fresh fluids, a clean up job and charge everything up and was ready to fight in the A main! We are off and underway under the lights and starting in the back I just had to wait for my turn to make my moves. I had my buddy Brenden over the mic to give me updates and keep me calm while I drive. He did a good job at it and next thing u know it’s a freight train from about 6th to 10th which was where I was. Top 10 was in the books and then was looking to possibly pass 2 more for an 8th. Unfortunately a Marshall was a bit slow running off the track and clipped his foot and flipped over. Settled for a 12th but as I know now I got a new package with some outstanding support behind me!

Day 5 of Buggy: It was gonna be a hard day if I wanted one of the spots to get into the main tonight. Not only the A or the B but even the C main had some national champs in there. Shows that we had a mini worlds at this year DNC! Got my buggy ready to fight and make it happen. A bit of a rough start in the beginning which dropped me back a spot and knew I had to really fight to even get into the B. As I started to get in the grove and waiting for driving error, we soon saw ourselves 1st after pit stops were done. Unfortunately the next lap as we are about to cross the finish, I got hit from behind and had to spin around and get going. Keeping calm, I just had to not give up and let whatever happened behind me. Time ran out and there was no bump for me..

Overall: I have to say that I’m very happy where I’m at with my HB Packages. Some more work on truggy to get ready for the nationals but still very happy. Can’t wait for the next upcoming races!! Thanks to everyone for the support and especially 1Army for supporting me to the MAX!! Shout out to Robert Bartlett, Chuck N Chuck Harris, Dylan Bartlett, and especially my dad Kevin Harris for the support. Even though he wasn’t pitting me for every run, he rooted me on the sidelines to watch me do the best I can. Last but not least my sponsors!!:
