Really pumped on my results at nats this week!
Report from
2022 1:8 Off-road Fuel ROAR Nationals
Headed home from the 2022 Roar 1/8th Fuel Nationals! Really pumped on my results this week! Qualifying went well. In truck I qualified 4th and knew I had the pace to keep up with the top guys in the main. During the main I was able to work my way up to 2nd with a little less than half way to go I had a shock end come off the shock shaft which would end my run early. I felt I had 2nd wrapped up. The truck felt comfortable and I had great pace. Super bummed but I feel confident going into PNB.
Qualifying also went well in buggy. I qualified 3rd in the even semi. I knew I had to be in the top 4 to qualify straight into the final. I went into the semi with confidence after my truck run knowing I had the pace. I was able to put in a good run and finished 3rd which would put me starting P4 in the final.
I started the main really well until I had a few mistakes which put me back in 9th place. I kept my head down and knew I had the speed if I could keep my laps clean. I was able to work my way back up to 4th and had a great battle with Spencer Rivkin and was able to edge him out with a couple of minutes left in the 60 minute final to finish 3rd on the podium!
So many people to thank that have helped me get to this point. I couldn’t have done it without all of the people and great companies that support me! Thank you to Philippe Neidhart, Chad Phillips, Cole Ogden, Walker Spinrad, and Ryan Pavidis at HB Racing for the great cars and all the setup in the pits. Mario Rossi, Marco Rossi, and Federica Rossi at REDS RACING for the engines and clutches. Jason Ruona, Allison Read Ruona, and Paul Wynn at JConcepts Inc for the tires and bodies, Drew Singer, Jared Tebo, and Justin Huglin at NitroPro for the fuel and servos. Kevin Abbott at Team Trinity for the batteries, Stickit1racing for the stickers, Brad Horsch at Zippy Drain for all the travel help and great place to practice, my parents for all of their support and making this possible, and last to all of my friends and family supporting me from home. Can’t wait for the next one! See everyone at PNB in 2 weeks!!
