Kind of a longer one but it was another good weekend of rc racing in the books. I made the trip down South once again to hangout in Spinrad’s new hometown in South Carolina and go race the first big event of the year together. I was fortunate enough to remain with the same sponsors this year and my comfort level with my whole racing package has never been higher so I was pumped to get on the clock against the best.
Heading into qualifying I was a bit in my head too much but got it figured out at the end with good runs going despite issues with lap traffic on the overpopulated race course. With only a few seconds separating 10 or so of us throughout qualifying I would end up in the top of both B’s for the buggy classes and 12th in the A for truck, not my best but the confidence was there for the mains.
I was able to lead tone to tone in the ebuggy B main with my #r1wurks esc/motor making timing all the jumps a breeze. The nitro buggy B main was intense with Drake, Kaden Fuller, Spencer Heckert, Walker, Camden, Dillon and I all on good runs. After an early wreck I charged hard to the lead battle and finished 3rd, getting the bump. That was a hard race and shoutout to Walker for showing everyone how skilled he is behind a controller.
The A’s were tough starting from deep in the field but the changes I made for the increasingly difficult surface allowed me to stay consistent and finish in the top 10 in all 3 classes, a feat in itself when the competition is this high. Highlight of the weekend was definitely ebuggy where I came from 13th on the grid to 4th in A1, I’ve finished just outside the top 5 a couple times at Racetime events so it felt good to finally be on the box.
There’s so many people and companies to thank, I’m lucky to have such awesome products and support behind me, it makes things a lot easier. My cars, engines, electronics and tires were on point and my HBracing/Hotrace teammates worked hard together to get the best results possible. The vibes in the pits were all-time and Daniel and Tj from TRUSource helped tremendously with tire support, advice and blazing fast pit stops.
Thanks to my sponsors for making races like these possible and Mr.Spinrad for the east coast hospitality as well as the photos 📸 thanks for doing what you do.

Next up is the TNR Challenge at Thunder Alley this weekend. Looking forward to battling it out at the local against a stacked field!
