European Championship LSOR 4WD 2023.
We had a very nice week of racing on one of the best largescale offroad tracks I've ever driven at RCA Stařeč.
Always awesome to return to that track, thanks to the organizers!
For myself this was the first race of the year with the largescale buggy. Due to the bad weather we missed some tracktime which didn't make it easier for me, I noticed it was hard to find my rythm.
From the beginning of the week, the car was already working very good which helped a lot. Thanks to my team we worked to improve the car setup throughout the week and we were all very competitive, especially Ferry Fernee taking Top Qualifier!
After qualification round I was P4 which resulted in a P2 start in Semi-Final B.
I had a good run and finished a couple of seconds after P1, very happy with that but there was some room for improvement to the setup.
In main final I would have started again on P2.
Unfortunately I had to ask a delay as my servo died when plugging in. Thanks to a quick repair I was able to drive the main final starting from the pitlane.
We changed some little things between the semi and main final, what a difference that made.
The car was so awesome to drive in the main final, I've never hoped to be able to fight for the title with Sven Rodewald and Romain Romain Valter after the pitlane start, but I was lucky to quickly make my way forward.
I had a nice fight with Sven for P1 during the last minutes of the final, unfortunately after a small error I had to retire the car with a mecanical issue ending on P8.
Congrats Sven Rodewald with the EC title, Romain Valter and APF Automobile Performance Factory with the Vice-EC Title and congratulations to my team mate Tim Vander Elst with 3th spot!
