RCA Stařeč this past week has been emotional to say the least
We lost quite a lot of track time due to inclement weather and so only 2 qualifiers Thursday afternoon and finals run on the Friday meant that we had to be on it, I had the fastest lap time in class of 35.77 after controlled practice and so was confident with clean driving I could be up there. I changed my airfilter for q1 and I didn't clean the excess oil out, rookie mistake as it choked the engine meaning I didn't even start for q1, not ideal! For q2 I checked and checked again making sure there would be no issues, I was confident and it showed in my driving, falling just short of tq by 0.4s I was very happy with that after the drama of q1 so that would put me in p1 of the first semi.
I went out for warm up in the semi final with the intention of completing 2 laps and bringing it in, everything checked out good and so the formation lap to the grid I knew I just needed to keep it rubber down and get through, the buzzer went and after 1 lap complete the car started acting up, I knew something was wrong but kept going until the front left coil spring exited the car and all steering was lost, bringing it into the pits after a handful of laps was not what I envisioned and it was a hard pill to swallow after so much hard work has gone into just being there, to have the shock shaft unscrew from the rod end is gutting, no broken parts!!!
I have to say though well done to Matt At Mmr Raceway for bringing home the trophy for the UK! You drove consistently all week and its well deserved 👏🏻
Thanks to Verkoop Elcon for helping out and Jack Keatley shake and bake well be back lol
How could I not finish on mentioning the best mechanic a guy could wish for!! Natalie Louise is always there for me at home and at the track and we now look forward to our wedding in 2 weeks time!! ❤️❤️ love you loads and we will have better luck next time!!!
