Florida Carpet Championship 2023 is in the books!👌🏼

It was the first time for me back racing 1/10 Carpet at an international level event like this since before Covid and I will take a lot with me moving forward.

First of all it was awesome to be back racing 1/10 again with the best of the best! It’s so intense and really test the driver. This was the best US event I’ve been to and already looking forward to next time!

Both my Xray cars powered with Corsatec electronics and Hitec servos were incredible all week. The all new XB2’24 and XB4’24 were flying out on track and I couldn’t be more happy about the performance of the package🤘🏼😎

The week started out great and I had really good speed during the whole event. I seeded 2nd in 2wd and 3rd in 4wd after practice and it was an exciting start to say the least! During qualifying I was driving really tight, it was the first time in a long time I felt ”IT”. I love to have this feeling but unfortunately it got me a bit this time in qualifying and I wasn’t able to live up to the expectations I put on myself after practice.

This resulted in a few silly mistakes during the qualifiers that would put me down a bit on the grid. In 4wd I really had the speed of the front runners so even with the mistakes I was able to line up 5th on the grid which I was still OK with considering I wasn’t happy with my driving. In 2wd it would hurt a little more however and I had a few really good runs going before I would have a mistake and in the last quali I was in 2nd place but hit the curb and put it on the roof with two corners to go.. A P2 finish there would have put me 6th on the grid but instead I had to start 9th…

So after qualifying was over I had to do the best I could in the mains and I’m a lot happier about my drives today. I think I really maximised what was possible from my starting positions and I was able to show myself I could do it when it matters. Finishing 3rd in the first two 4wd mains was great and in the end I would settle for 4th overall. In 2wd I had some fun battles on track with the guys and I would move up from 9th to 6th overall!

It was a great experience to be back in such a competitive field of racers in this class and this was just the beginning of what’s to come.

I would like to congratulate Bruno Coelho RC Driver for his great performance putting the Xray cars on 1st and 2nd place on the podium. To Martin Bayer for his two titles in the Stock Class and to Michal Orlowski for his 2wd win and overall title👏🏻

Thanks to Beachline Raceway with its crew for a great event!

It’s been a great week, and it will be a quick turn around at the Hudy Arena before we set sail for the EOS - Euro Offroad Series starting on Friday! See you all there🙌

Special thanks to all my sponsors!
