Report from IFMAR 1/12 World Championship 2023

Podium finish at the 2023 IFMAR 12th Scale World Championships! It's not the win that I had dreamed of, but nonetheless a result to be proud of, considering all the hard work and preparations going into this event. At one point in qualifying yesterday I thought that I might have a shot at the win - but unfortunately with today's hot and humid track conditions, I couldn't find the pace that I had yesterday, and simply had to settle for 4-3-2 finishing positions in the finals, which was enough to finish 3rd overall!

I didn't have an easy start to the event, catching pink eye (eye infection) on the first day of practice, as well as a broken sensor cable in CP1, which demoted me to the bottom heat. The uphill struggle eventually turned around after a really solid first day of qualifying, an even better 2nd day of qualfiying, and some surprisingly uneventful finals (for my part).

This was my last race event of 2023. I'm looking forward to a few weeks break before travelling back to the US in early January for the HUDY Indoor Champs!
