Back home from DNC and already on to the next race
Once we got to qualifying the track was starting to get rough and I couldn’t avoid having at least one major mistake that cost me a lot of positions. I salvaged a top 5 for both Nitro Truggy and E Buggy but in Nitro Buggy I would have to start first in the B.
E buggy main was one of the craziest races I have been involved in with the whole field being nose to tail for the whole main. I fell back in the race to 12th and ended up finishing 4th overall like 3 laps later. In truggy I got a clean start and played chess with RM for the whole 45 minutes. The pace kept getting higher and higher and on this track you are on the edge already the whole time. I had a few mistakes that definitely cost me but happy with how I drove and how good the truggy was in the main. I made quite a few changes going into the A practice and it was the right call. I could push the truck really hard and be confident nothing bad would happen. Huge respect to Ryan for the drive he put on.
I applied all I learned on Saturday to Sunday and made a lot of changes to my Nitro Buggy before the B main. It took me a few minutes to figure out how the car was going to handle but after that I put my head down and learned what the car could do and what lines I could take. I bumped up into the A starting 13th overall. Going into the main I made another changed and ended up going out on the JC Falcons for the first time. It was the right call and the best my package had been all week long. I made a few lucky key swerves and found myself in 5th place already after lap one. I dropped a pit stop on the leaders but David and Elliott ran fast and clean the whole time so I had to settle for 3rd. Congrats to Elliott on an amazing drive on an extremely difficult track.
Thanks to my sponsors and everyone for all the support!
