Report from IFMAR 1/8 Electric Off-Road World Championship 2025 Barcelos

The family is back home after a long trip back yesterday. Dax did great again and is quite the travel trooper. Chloe didn’t do too bad either. I’m glad we got to experience Portugal as a family as it is a fantastic place and very family oriented. Special thanks goes out to the Figueiredo family and the track crew for the amazing hospitality. They got Chloe and Dax front row parking every day and even parked the car for them on most of the days so they wouldn’t have to walk far.

As far as my racing goes it was dismal at best. I had a great starting setup as the NB euros were there a couple months ago. First practice day ended really well and I had great speed with more comfort coming each run in the layout. Unfortunately from there on the weather and temp changed a lot which changed the grip level and track conditions. I never really recovered from that and wasn’t able to get my speed back that I had found in day one and I ended up qualifying in the B. Not happy with the results but that’s how it goes sometimes. We will use this as motivation for the 10th scale worlds coming up next month.

Thanks to the whole Xray team for everything and working so well together. This was my first race working with a lot of the European team and all went well. Great group of people!
