Battle of the Nordics is on for 2022! We can finally go back to international racing again after postponing the race for 2 years. We hope everybody is looking forward to battle your nordic racing friends!

All registrations will carry over from the initial signup, but if you want to cancel we understand but make sure to contact us. Read the rules about reimbursement amounts. But we really hope you all want to be participate and race this year in Battle of the Nordics!

1 Responsibility and accountability

Battle of the Nordics is organized by Lerums RC, which is not affiliated with SBF (the Swedish Motorsport Federation). This means that there is no insurance during the event. You attend and race at your own risk, no personal injuries will be the responsibility of the organizer. No expenses due to material or immaterial damages of any sort before, during or after this event will reimbursed.

Everybody attends and competes under the same rights and on their own risk and are responsible for any damage they conflict on material or people.

2 Technical requirements

2.1. Engine and Drivetrain

Engine: 2-stroke engine with one cylinder up to 35cc. Any engine outside these specifications are allowed in the Outlaw class.

Fuel: We recommend using Alkylate fuel, but 95/98 octane petrol is also permitted. The only allowed additive is mass produced 2-stroke oil.

Exhaust: The car must use a silenced pipe or a non-silenced pipe with an external mounted silencer.

Brakes: The car has to have a functioning brake, which has to be capable of keeping the car stationary whilst the engine is running .

2.2 Chassis, Tyres and Body

Chassis: 1/5 or 1/6 scale, maximum length is 1000mm and maximum width is 600mm. The measurements will be randomly checked during the event. The Outlaw class has no length or width restrictions.

Bumper: All models must have a front bumper, a rear bumper is allowed but not mandatory. Bumpers must be made from a flexible material.

Tyres: Only wheels and tyres designed and made for large scale off road use are allowed and they must be commercially available. No screws or other sharp objects are allowed to extend from the tyres.

Numbering: Everybody has to apply number decals on their bodies that will be handed out by the race organizer, no other numbers are allowed. The same number will be used during the whole event.

2.3 Electronics

Electronic remote kill switch is recommended but not required, a manual fail-safe switch is mandatory. This will be inspected by technical controller before the event.

Transponder for time keeping and lap counting should be mounted in the car which works with AMB Rc2 (AMBrc, AMBrc DP PT, RC4 Hybrid and MRT PTX).

It’s not allowed to use any gyroscope or similar technology for driver assistance.

Drivers that uses AM/FM based radio transmitters should communicate which frequency they use when they register for the event.

2.4 Repairs/Service during the event

Regular repairs and service of broken parts, engine or electronics are allowed. If the car is totally put out of service and can’t be repaired it is allowed to change to another car in the same class if the transponder is moved over to the new car.

2.5 Classes

Available classes for the event are 2wd, 4wd (buggy), Short Course (SC) and Outlaw. Only two wheel rear drive is allowed in the 2WD-class . Only all-wheel drive is allowed in the 4WD and SC-class. The Outlaw class is open for both two wheel and all-wheel drive.

3 Registration

3.1 Registration process

To register for Battle of the Nordics you should follow this process:

Signup to the event through House of RC. You will receive a confirmation email with payment instructions (you can also refer to section 3.2 below). You can use PayPal or Swish. Once we have received the payment  your signup will be confirmed. Before it's confirmed it's NOT a full valid registration.
The registration has to be done before the deadline of May 8 2022.

3.2 Payment details

The registration fee is 400SEK (about €37) for one class and 600SEK (about €55) for two classes and is paid before the event. The payment can be done either via Paypal (you don't need an account) integrated via House of RC or via Swish (only for Swedish drivers) to 0703-159498 (Conny Svensson will be the receiver).

Important! You should enter your email adress in the notes field when paying via Swish.

We offer the option to bring an RV, trailer or caravan to sleep in close to the track. Select this option when you sign up and the number of nights you plan to stay over.

3.3 Registration details

A driver can register in one or maximum two separate classes, see section 2.5 for available classes.

3.4 Age requirements for drivers

Drivers have to be 15 years or older to register for the event. Drivers below 15 can be allowed if parents are present during the whole event. This needs to be noted on the registration.

3.5 Number of drivers

The maximum number of drivers is 60 drivers for the whole event. This limit is set to ensure that everybody gets as much time on the track as possible but still not having too long days. We want this to be fun and relaxed for everybody!

The minimum number of drivers for a class is 5. If a class has less than 5 drivers we will try to include them in another class, like SC driving with buggies.

3.6 Cancellation

Cancellations by a participant can be made up to the deadline. The participant will be reimbursed 300SEK for one class registration and 500SEK for two classes. After the deadline no money will be paid back.

The same reimbursement amounts holds if the organizer has to cancel the event for some unintentional reason. The event is not determined cancelled if it’s postponed to a later date.

3.7 Prices

The winners will receives nice trophies and all registered drivers will be part of a raffle for engine parts and other RC related things.
